Amazon Kindle - is it really the new iPod?

The current seems the Amazon Kindle hot "must have" gadget on the market just now be. It seems very much as if the eBook reader is an idea whose time is - come and the Amazon Kindle is undoubtedly the best example of such a device on the market right now. It is also, and let us no bones about it here, cool.

The Kindle is that on Apple iPod - now a Kindle application that allowed you to read Kindle books on – through a series of industry watchers have been compared. In fact, Steven Levy go back to the start of the original Kindle in November 2007, Newsweek cover article suggested that the Kindle was the "... iPod reading". Two and a half years, it seems that the drawing parallels between the two devices understanding the current phenomenal success of the Kindle - and perhaps even an insight in what can be done in the near future could go in a certain way.

Amazon Supremo Jeff Bezos, back way back in 2007 is quoted as saying, "this [Kindle] is a device, it is a service."- and this is absolutely fundamental understanding why the Kindle as well in Amazon business model works. Some criticism at the Kindle price raised - it currently sold at $359 for the Kindle 2, slightly reduced from the original Kindle price of $399. The original iPod was at $399 price, when it appeared - prices have fallen, since the product was first adopted and then by mainstream practically ubiquitous. At the same time, the functionality has increased.

Apple is, and has been for some time, synonym for download and increased the range from products, videos, games and a variety of applications for the iPod. Similarly, Amazon is linked strongly with books, an ideal choice for them to make the Kindle product. The recent announcement of the larger Kindle DX is remarkable, not pure due to the various technical improvements that it offers, but because Amazon's ability improves delivery of newspapers, magazines and even scientific textbooks for its consumers.

It would be wrong discount, the technical aspects of the Kindle readers series a matter of course, but it seems that the technology for Amazon, a means is to an end, rather than the end itself. In fact, as far as e-book reader technology goes, Amazon are pretty late to the party when you consider that it rivals such as the Franklin-eBook (no longer developed is but still available from some sources) since 1999 was occur have to, and Sony have recently eBook reader. There are a number of others, some already have a death, which the others without currently at least, are soldiering on something like the volume of interest from the Kindle pulls, died.

Another important advantage of Amazon at this time enjoyed is that uses 3 g wireless technology to their eBooks in less than a minute without the use of a computer or an Internet connection - can download Kindle user and bind without a monthly contract or having to pay a download fee. It is a great example of the way and way Amazon have used the technology, to a perceived use to offer their customers.

No monthly connection fee, and no download fees means that customers don't feel bound or Amazon service, an important factor in the light required relatively high ticket prices and the current economic climate the. Of course be while with their Kindle customers to buy ebooks elsewhere for use, it still much easier for them, from Amazon to buy large and ever-growing selection of Kindle friendly books. Amazon will see that a lot of follow-up orders - as well as Apple use their iTunes store.

Use the iPod experience predict the Kindle possible future, it seems unlikely that the Kindle everything his own way. As mentioned above there are already eBook reader on the market a number of existing alternatives - the Sony PRS is probably the most important player in addition to the Kindle right now, but there are others. This will either improve and a strong competition for the Kindle or disappear from the market square.

Also to consider is the fact that there are a number of new readers in development. Plastic logic, a Kindle DX has readers in development of size, which is scheduled for release in 2010. Rumors abound release tablet-based computers, proposed by Apple, the gap between an iPod touch on that and sought a full blown MacBook. It would be impossible to imagine that Apple may be included extending their iStore eBooks, so how they record it video expands, after the release of the iPhone and iPod touch too fanciful.

And it is not only increased competition based on improved reader technology, Amazon might have to face. In March 2009, Google and Sony announced that Google's huge library of eBooks for free would be available reader from Sony. This is a total 600,000 titles and is clear signal that the eBook reader market be too violently challenged in the future.

At the moment, Amazon is pretty much sitting. It has a large number of eBooks in his library, there are free downloads enable the wireless technology fee, and most importantly of all - the Kindle is cool. Whether it is becoming a ubiquitous iPod-type product or fierce competition will probably not in the face of what only time will tell. Amazon have so far more than smart, it seems likely that a major player in this new market for a long it time to come.

One thing seems sure, we all have the ability to read books, magazines, newspapers and even textbooks with portable digital reader in the immediate future. Competition, volumes, and advances in technology to drive prices down which will connect an increasingly popular choice for many will, perhaps even a majority of the readers. The way how we read, to be faster than you could imagine to change.
